Dental treatment is genuinely difficult for many patients. Physiology, past experience, or both can make even routine visits feel stressful. We offer multiple levels of sedation to match the procedure and your comfort level. Dr. Marino completed advanced IV sedation training during his two-year residency at UT Health San Antonio and monitors every sedation case personally.
A mild sedative inhaled through a small mask placed over your nose. You remain conscious and responsive but feel relaxed and less aware of the procedure. Effects wear off within minutes, and most patients can drive themselves home.
A prescription sedative taken before your appointment produces a deeper state of relaxation. You remain conscious but may feel drowsy and have limited memory of the procedure afterward. A responsible adult must drive you home.
Sedative medication delivered directly into your bloodstream for a deeper level of sedation. Dr. Marino monitors your vital signs throughout the procedure. Most patients have little to no memory of the treatment. This option is recommended for complex procedures, oral surgery, or patients with significant dental anxiety. A responsible adult must accompany you.
